Five Reasons You Should Request a Free Sample Kit:
1. Test materials and coatings on your product
Your product is your brand. Your customer will judge you on your label and how it appears on your product. Just because a design looks good on a computer screen doesn’t mean it will look good when it is printed.
The material and coatings applied can even affect how the label will adhere to your packaging. Testing our samples will not only give you a better idea of how your design will look but, will also show you how the various materials will behave when tested on your actual packaging.
We also have many different adhesives. You want your labels to stick around to be seen. It is important to apply our samples to your actual packaging and let them cure for 24 to 48 hours and then check to make sure they adhere.
2. Get hands-on with the different label materials
The material you choose will not only affect the look of inks, it can also affect how a label sticks to your packaging. Textured surfaces, curved surfaces or rigid material that wants to lay flat can all cause labels to pull away from packaging.
We will send you samples of each of our materials from paper, kraft paper, foil and polyester. Our samples use different printing techniques as well as different coatings so you can see how the inks are affected and check their ability to stick to your packaging.
3. See ink options and how they print over different materials
Inks can look transparent on metallic materials (almost like stained glass) or washed out on dark materials. Our samples will show how you can (affordably) add the look of foil inks to your finished product and make your product stand out from your competitors.
Inks can also fade or scuff if you do not choose the right protective coatings.
4. Experience the different coatings and their properties
Coatings are designed to protect your inks and your labels. They offer protection from water, oil and sun. Coatings can also be the culprit that causes the label to lay flat or pull away from a curved surface.
Laminates are a harder film that offers superior protection but they want to lay flat. You may want to consider using a varnish that is thinner and will conform to curved surfaces.
We also have a new thermal varnish that you can print on. It allows you to order full color labels in bulk and then add your analytics on demand in small batches at your facility with a thermal printer.
